BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County, on behalf of its Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Division, has received grant funding in the amount of $50,000 from Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation’s Community Oral Health Transformational Initiative (COrHT). The funds will be used to purchase iPads for patient education and signing of documents, advertising for the Dental Clinic, and educational materials for post-operative instructions in languages most commonly served, including Spanish, Karen, Urdu, Swahili, Arabic, and Vietnamese. The dental clinic serves children in Guilford County who are eligible for dental services with their Medicaid coverage. The numbers of unduplicated patients served over the last three (3) fiscal years are:

FY 22-23 1,309 projected to be 2,618 by end of fiscal year.

REQUESTED ACTION
Requested Action
Approve the one-time funding awarded from Blue Cross Blue Shield for the Community Oral Health Transformational Initiative, increase appropriation to Other Revenues by $50,000 and increase the FY 2022-23 appropriation to Health & Human Services (Public Health) by the same amount.
