BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Transportation Department has prepared the 5310 - Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities application for the FY2024 funding cycle to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT/IMD) no later than October 7, 2022.
The total amount of the 5310 Grant request for FY2024 is $200,000, 50% grant of $100,000 with a 50% County match of $100,000.
The 5310 program grant provides funding for salaries and vehicle maintenance expenses for the Guilford County Transportation Department. The funding received in FY 2022 from this grant provided over 3,077 trips for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Guilford County.
A public hearing is required to assess the value and need for a community transportation system and assistance to seniors and individuals with disabilities in Guilford County. Attached is a summary of the grant request and authorizing resolution.
