BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office has been awarded $150,000 from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety to continue the local reentry council. Local reentry councils are developed to coordinate resources in the local community in an effort to provide assistance for returning citizens and their families that will facilitate a better transition from incarceration back into Guilford County. This award is broken into three sections. Contract Services is funded at $86,000 which includes Housing, Transportation and child care for participants. Supplies is funded at $44,000 which includes Public transportation, work related uniforms and program supplies. Training is funded at $20,000 and includes Vocational/Educational Training for the participants.

Requested Action
Approve contract with North Carolina Department of Public Safety to continue the Guilford County Reentry Council; approve receipt of the awarded funding of $150,000, and increase Federal/State revenue and the FY 2020-21 Law Enforcement budget by the same amount to reflect this additional funding.
