BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County currently uses three (3) separate vendors to provide connectivity across all County buildings to our primary data center at 201 W. Market St. in Greensboro. An RFP (Event # 549) was issued in December 2016 and seven (7) suppliers provided proposals. The evaluation committee, consisting of members from IS, EMS and Law Enforcement, selected Spectrum Technologies of Greensboro as the chosen vendor to provide Ethernet Wide Area Connectivity across all County buildings as per the agreement attached to this agenda item.
Key deliverables of this project will include:
•Fiber-based Ethernet Connectivity from Main (Host) Data Center located at 201 W. Market St, Greensboro, NC to all current Guilford County locations identified in the Appendix
•Bandwidth options from 20Mbs up to 10 Gbps
•Full turnkey solution including all hardware, software and licensing
•Single bill with amounts separated for each location
•Scalability for future growth and possibility for on-demand bandwidth adjustment

Authorize staff to enter into an agreement with Spectrum Technologies to provide Ethernet Wide Area Network connectivity across all Guilford County buildings, at a fixed price of $15,260/month for a term of four (4) years, for a total cost of $732,480, plus applicable taxes.
