BACKGROUND
Background
The Board of County Commissioners approved contracting with Spectrum on April 2, 2017. The related County contract was executed June 16, 2017, for a term of 48 months. The contract was renewed early on September 16, 2020 for 36 months, in order to significantly increase bandwidth at eight (8) locations and to add four (4) locations.
The PRICE ONLY contract term is for three (3) years effective on the contract execution date of October 1, 2023, and ending on September 30, 2026, with two (2) one-year extension options beginning on October 1, 2026, and ending on September 30, 2028. There is an overall 30% decrease in the cost from the current Spectrum Enterprise agreement with highest decreases occurring for our 10Gbps locations (39%). The annual estimated expense is $180,360, which equates to a three (3) year estimated expense of $541,080. Spectrum Enterprise will continue to provide a single billing with amounts separated for each location.
Spectrum Enterprise provides 28 wide area connections across the county to enable fiber connectivity between all the locations and access to the public internet with bandwidth options from 20 Mbps to 10 Gbps. Each location connection is scalable for future growth with on-demand bandwidth adjustment as needed.
This purchase has been reviewed and approved for Board consideration by the Purchasing Department to confirm that the same or more favorable pricing, terms, and conditions have been extended to the County consistent with NC IT State Contract ITS-200086.
