PROCLAMATION
Proclamation
WHEREAS, strong relationships between families and the child support program foster trust, encourage collaboration, and help ensure that children receive the financial and emotional support they need to thrive; and
WHEREAS, Guilford County Child Support Services touches the lives of nearly 15,700 residents each year and collected more than $32.5 million in child support during Fiscal Year 2026, providing critical financial support to children and families throughout our community; and
WHEREAS, Guilford County Child Support Services is committed to a family-centered approach that treats every individual with dignity, respect, and compassion while connecting families to the resources they need to achieve long-term success; and
WHEREAS, the department continues to advance innovative strategies that help remove barriers to child support compliance through family-centered casework, partnerships with state and local agencies, and referrals to community-based organizations; and
WHEREAS, during Child Support Awareness Month, Guilford County Child Support Services will engage the community through educational outreach, informational displays, and partnerships with local agencies to increase public awareness of the services available to support children and families; and
WHEREAS, Child Support Awareness Month provides an opportunity to recognize the important role parents, community partners, and child support professionals play in strengthening families and improving outcomes for children across Guilford County.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners hereby proclaims August 2026 as "Child Support Awareness Month" in Guilford County and encourages all residents to recognize the value of child support services in promoting family stability, parental responsibility, and the well-bein...
