BACKGROUND
Background
In November 2020, the Board of Commissioners voted to move forward with the completion of the County's first Disparity Study. Initially anticipated to take 12 - 18 months from the starting date the program kick off, the scope of the study was identified to address the following: conduct a disparity study of Guilford County’s contractual awards in construction, goods, services and architectural and engineering services for the past five (5) year period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2020; data collection and analysis; policy analysis; legal analysis; recommendations and presentation of a final report and presentation of findings to the Board of Commissioners.
Today's work session is to give a preliminary review of the report findings and recommendations and allow time for the Board to review findings and schedule adoption of recommendations at the Board's next regularly scheduled meeting.
