BACKGROUND
Background
Cone Health Foundation of Greensboro has a mission to invest in the development and support of activities, programs and organizations that measurably improve the health of people in the Greater Greensboro area. To deliver on this mission Cone continues to concentrate on these priority areas: Access to Health Care, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, HIV/AIDs, Substance Abuse and Mental Health.
Our Young Adult Clinics operate in both Greensboro and High Point with funding from Cone Health Foundation for Greensboro and the Foundation of Healthy High Point for High Point. Since 2016 Cone Health has continued to fund a grant to DHHS-Public Health Division for our Young Adult Clinic. DHHS- Public Health Division was awarded $211,890 for the period October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023 and $52,973 was adopted during the FY2023 budget process. This amendment reduces the funding included in the General Fund and budgets the entire grant in the Grants Project Fund. This funding will continue to provide care for young adult male and female in a dedicated clinic setting for sports/school physicals, immunizations, and behavioral health screening. Since the inception of this program public health has served 3,291 unduplicated patients and provided 52,417 services.

The grant will continue to fund two positions which includes a contracted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and a Nurse Specialist I. The clinic has afternoon hours to meet the needs of our young adult population. The Clinic operates 30 hours, 5 afternoons per week. In addition to staffing funding will be used for supplies (office and medical), advertising, drugs, and training.
