RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO CLOSE A ROADWAY

WHEREAS, N.C.G.S 153A-241 authorizes the Guilford County Board of Commissioners to close public roads or easements; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners considers it advisable to conduct a public hearing for the purpose of giving consideration to the closing of that portion of Groundhog Trace which fronts Lots 73, 74, 75, and 76, all as shown on Plat Book 148, Page 55, as recorded in the Register of Deeds of Guilford County, running south from Raccoon Run and terminating at and including the cul-de-sac of Groundhog Trace;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Guilford County Board of Commissioners that:

1. A meeting will be held at 5:30PM on the 15th day of September, 2022 in the Commissioners Chambers located on the 2nd Floor of the Old County Courthouse, 301 W. Market Street, Greensboro, NC at which a public hearing shall be held to consider closing that portion of Groundhog Trace which fronts Lots 73, 74, 75, and 76, all as shown on Plat Book 148, Page 55, as recorded in the Register of Deeds of Guilford County, running south from Raccoon Run and terminating at and including the cul-de-sac of Groundhog Trace. Subject to such public hearing and as required by N.C.G.S. 153A-241, the Board of Commissioners declares its intent to close that portion of Groundhog Trace.

2. The Clerk to Board is hereby directed to publish this Resolution of Intent once a week for two successive weeks on the Guilford County Electronic Legal Notices website, pursuant to S.L. 1981-59, S.L. 2017-210, and Guilford County Ordinance Chapter 17: Electronic Notice section 17-1(a).

3. The Clerk to Board is further directed to transmit by registered or certified mail to each owner of property abutting upon that portion of said street a copy of this Resolution of Intent.
