BACKGROUND
Background
On July 1, 2022, the firm of Hankin & Pack, PLLC paid $699.00 in excise tax stamps to the Guilford County Register of Deeds office on a North Carolina General Warranty Deed recorded in Book 8633 at Page 2577. The Warranty Deed was mistakenly recorded in Guilford County; however, the property is located in Forsyth County.
Hankin & Pack, PLLC have recorded an Affidavit of Correction of Typographical or other Minor Error in Book 8641 at Page 2767 acknowledging the erroneous recording and has requested a refund of excise tax in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. 105-228.37.
