BACKGROUND
Background
During the Board's July 29, 2022 work session, Emergency Services staff presented their ARPA RFI submission requesting $400,000 towards expansion of Guilford County's EMT/Paramedic Academy and $1,125,000 to launch a Fire Academy, for a total of $1,525,000 in ARPA funding through 2026. These academies will enable Emergency Services to attract and retain staff in critical services.

Requested Action
Approve the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to launch a Guilford County Fire Academy and expand the Guilford County EMT/Paramedic Academy, and authorize all necessary budget transfers.
