BACKGROUND
Background
During the Board's July 29, 2022 work session, FJC and DHHS-DSS staff presented their ARPA RFI submission on a DHHS-DSS specialty team designed specifically for the FJC to address the complex challenges of vulnerable families living in Guilford County. Collaboratively, the departments have requested $1,772,220 through 2026 to hire eight (8) staff members in the areas of Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services (APS) in Greensboro and High Point. The eight (8) positions on the specialty team include:
Five (5) Dual CPS/APS Investigators
Two (2) Social Worker III's (Administrative and Intake Support)
One (1) Supervisor

REQUESTED ACTION
Requested Action
Approve the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding towards the addition of eight (8) positions, to include: five (5) dual CPS/APS investigators, two (2) Social Worker III's and one (1) supervisor, to develop a specialty DHHS-DSS/FJC Protective Services team, and authorize all necessary budget transfers.
