BACKGROUND
Background
The ambulance boxes were competitively bid through Purchasing under event #511 for a price only contract. The contract term was for two (2) years,with 2- one (1) year renewals. The contract was extended by the Board of Commissioners on March 17, 2020 under Guilford County contract #2193 for three - one year renewals, with the anticipated purchase not expected to exceed five (5) ambulances per contract year.
The department bid two box lengths: 157" = $146,475 and 172" = $148,246.
The Department is simply renewing the contract at present, and NO commitment to purchase until after approval of the FY 2022-23 budget.

Approve last renewal of contract with Northwestern Emergency Vehicles, located at 268 NWEV Drive, West Jefferson, NC 28694, in substantial form, for the purchase of up to five (5) ambulance boxes in FY 2022-23, to be effective until March 18, 2023.
