BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County recommends entering into a limited use intergovernmental agreement with the US Marshal's Service for the custody and care of federal juvenile detainees in the Guilford County Juvenile Detention Center. The agreement covers a maximum of 150 detainment days at a rate of $244.00 per day, resulting in total revenue to the county of $36,600.

REQUESTED ACTION
Requested Action
Approve, in substantial form, an intergovernmental agreement with the United States Marshal's Service (USMS) in the amount of $36,600 to be effective October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022 for a term of one (1) year and approve an increase of $36,600 in User Charges and increase the FY 2021-22 Juvenile Detention budget by the same amount to reflect anticipated expenses and revenues related to the custody and care of federal juvenile detainees.
