BACKGROUND
Background
Medicare-eligible retirees who meet the required criteria are currently covered by a Medicare Advantage plan that costs a total of $231.80 monthly. The County contributes $203.12 on behalf of 30-year retirees. For 2022, the total monthly premium will remain the same. The County contribution should remain constant at $203.12, with the retiree paying the balance, as has been the County's practice since the 2014 plan year. See attached plan summary.

REQUESTED ACTION
Requested Action
Authorize staff to renew contract with United Healthcare to provide Medicare-eligible qualified retirees with the current Medicare Advantage plan, with no plan changes. Approve a rate of $231.80 with the County contribution remaining the same at a maximum of $203.12 per retiree.
