BACKGROUND
Background
The Board of Commissioners, in its role as the Guilford County Board of Health, has been requested to conduct a public hearing in accordance with N.C. General Statute 153A-45 and 130A-39(d). The purpose of the public hearing is to receive input on the Board’s consideration of proposed revisions to existing Board of Health rules on regulations governing health hazards, potential health hazards and county wells.
The intent of the revisions is to make updates to the rodent control and uncontrolled vegetation sections, and eliminate redundancies between the Guilford County Solid Waste Ordinance and the solid waste section of the Regulations Governing Health Hazards and Potential Health Hazards. Additionally, the revisions will align county wells rules with recent changes to state rules and simplify requirements for Certified Well Contractors to interpret and implement these rules. Upon adoption, the proposed revisions would become effective October 1, 2021.
