BACKGROUND

Background

The City of Burlington has had a single employee in Emergency Management for several years and this position was recently vacated by resignation.  The City of Burlington contracted with Guilford County to provide interim Emergency Management Services in FY2020-21 during a program evaluation.  The City of Burlington requested that Guilford County continue providing Emergency Management Services on a contractual basis through the hiring of one (1) full-time employee (FTE) and support from existing staff.  This program expansion was approved by the Board of Commissioners as part of the FY 2021-22 budget.
