BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its July 19, 2021 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following applications:
1. EVAD Application #2021-05, being 28.44 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#132992 @ 28.44 acres) all owned by Gerald W. Jr, Gerald W. and Kimberly B. Rayle of Pleasant Garden, NC.
2. VAD Application #2021-06, being 67.60 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#102138 @ 67.60 acres) all owned by Randy, Betty and Vickie Gerringer of Gibsonville, NC.
To date, approval of these applications brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 421, totaling 18,547.44 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 378 parcels comprising 16,781.76 acres are enrolled in VAD and 43 parcels comprising 1765.68 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
