BACKGROUND
Background
In response to recent events involving the use of firearms within the County, staff have reviewed the ordinances involving the use of firearms and recommend revisions that offer more protective measures to ensure that responsible gun owners may safely use firearms without adverse consequences to themselves and their neighbors. The intent of the revisions are to address projectiles fired from firearms at targets which go beyond the boundaries of the area by adding preventative measures such as backstops or other barriers.
Pursuant to NCGS 153A-45, the Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to receive public input on proposed revisions to Guilford County's Firearm Discharge and Noise Ordinances.
