BACKGROUND
Background
The statutory roles of Guilford County Tax Collector (N.C.G.S. 105-349) and Tax Assessor (N.C.G.S. 105-294) are appointed by the Board of Commissioners. In Guilford County, they are combined within the duties of the Tax Director. Tax Director Ben Chavis' current two-year term ends June 30, 2021. This contract is an increase of $9,616.98 from the previous contract dated July 1, 2019 as a result of approved merit compensation increases, and extends the agreement to a four-year term ending June 30, 2025.
