BACKGROUND
Background
The proposed amendments extending the interlocal agreement between the listed municipalities and Guilford County are for the billing and collection of ad valorem taxes (not including motor vehicle taxes collected by the State of North Carolina under N.C.G.S. Chapter 105, Article 22A) within the municipalities by the County. They are effective July 1, 2021 and are subject to final approval and any non-material revisions made by the County Manager. The amendment shall continue for a term of three (3) years, unless terminated pursuant to the terms therein. The County will charge an annual fee to each of the municipalities based on 0.62% of the collections for that municipality for the fiscal year ending June 30 of the prior year.

Requested Action
Approve the execution of the Tax Collection amendment, in substantial form as attached hereto, between the municipalities of Archdale, Burlington, Gibsonville, Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Kernersville, Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Summerfield and Whitsett; and Guilford County.
