BACKGROUND
Background
The attached revision to the Guilford County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) funding budget for FY 2020-21 reflects a reduction in funding of $16,011, as a result of a budget revision by One Step Further, due to a program ending effective February 2021. Nehemiah, Youth Focus, Alexander Youth Network, Unifour One and Boys & Girls Club of Greater High Point also had budget revisions, which reflect a reduction of $243,527 due to changes in their local cash match and local in-kind funding.

Additionally, North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NC DPS) awarded Discretionary Funds for FY 2020-21 in the amount of $37,100 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point - Positive Action program. Additional funds were made available through a screening process to assist programs that may have been severely impacted by the pandemic. County Cash Match is not affected, as no match was required.

NC DPS issued a notice that the availability of discretionary funding for FY 2020-21 must meet the following criteria: to be able to provide the required local match for these funds; purchase of equipment or capital outlay (requiring a cash match) that may enhance communications and/or address transportation needs and spend discretionary funds by June 30, 2021.

There is an overall reduction in funding of $222,438. This realignment was approved by the Guilford County JCPC during a special meeting held on May 7, 2021.
