BACKGROUND
Background
During their January 7, 2021 regular meeting, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners approved a ninety (90) day contract with NorthState Security Group, LLC to temporarily provide unarmed services at various county locations while a long-term security solution was identified. The County is allowed to select the second lowest qualified, responsible, responsive bidder from the original bid event for service contracts. During RFP Bid Event 646 conducted in April 2019, Weiser Security Services, Inc. was identified as the second lowest qualified, responsible, responsive bidder to provide unarmed and armed security services.
Compared to the prior contract with Security Innovations, the hourly rate for unarmed services will decrease from $16.03 to $15.94 per hour, while the armed services hourly rate increases from $16.03 to $19.81 per hour. The total contract cost is $925,837.28 for a term of one (1) year, an increase of $25,175 from Security Innovations for the same scope of service.

Approve a contract, in substantial form, with Weiser Security Services, Inc. in the amount of $925,837.28 effective one (1) year beginning February 20, 2021 through February 19, 2022, with an option for two (2) one-year renewals, for armed and unarmed security services at various County locations.
