BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Department of Health & Human Services - Public Health Division Pharmacy Program has been awarded additional grant funding in the amount of $65,208 from the North Carolina Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NCAFCC) as part of their agreement with the North Carolina Pandemic Recovery Office under the auspices of the Office of State Budget and Management. This award brings the total amount to $167,308. This funding was awarded to cover the cost of eligible health services provided during the COVID-19 emergency. Per the contract agreement, allowable expenses include:
1. Employee expenses (payroll and benefit costs for employees dedicated to providing COVID-related health services.)
2. Contracted labor expenses (independent contractors)
3. Other service expenses (utilities, telephone data and lease-related expenses)
4. Subcontractor expenses (construction, maintenance)
5. Goods and supplies (COVID-19 testing, cleaning and disinfecting supplies, PPE)
6. Equipment expenses
7. Other expenses (related charges not assigned above and described by the recipient)
The fully executed contract is for personnel costs only, as NCAFCC strongly recommends utilizing the grant funding to cover salaries for employees who are substantially dedicated to mitigating or responding to COVID-19. We will use this funding to temporarily reduce county expenses for Pharmacy staff salaries and benefits.
