BACKGROUND

Background

Guilford County is the primary recipient of $93.7 million in federal Coronavirus Relief funding and $4,466,640 of this funding was allocated to ten (10) incorporated municipalities under the Guilford County Coronavirus Relief Fund Plan approved by the Board of Commissioners in June 2020.  The interlocal agreements outline the importance of spending these allocations using the guidelines issued by the Department of Treasury Inspector General, provide instruction on how to request reimbursement for eligible expenditures and define the County's responsibility for ensuring funds are expended on response and recovery activities associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the Board's September and October meetings, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners approved interlocal agreements with the City of High Point and Towns of Gibsonville, Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Summerfield, Greensboro, Whitsett and Stokesdale.  Under the plan, the City of Jamestown was allocated up to $40,070 for eligible COVID-19 response and recovery expenses.  Jamestown has submitted its signed interlocal agreement for approval.
