BACKGROUND
Background
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NCDPS) has awarded discretionary funding in the amount of $8,000 to Youth Focus - Psychological Testing program for FY 2019-20. These funds were made available to all NC counties in an effort to provide continuity of services through the use of technology during the COVID-19 pandemic through purchase of software, technology enhancements to support programming and other urgent needs allowed under this funding source. A copy of the COVID-19 Discretionary Fund Assistance Opportunity notice is attached.
Two (2) Guilford County programs responded to the notice and NCDPS awarded discretionary funding to Youth Focus - Psychological Testing program. The Guilford County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) approved the programs' requests for funding and supports the NCDPS award decision. This discretionary award is solely funded with state dollars and no local match is required. Copies of the current and revised funding plans are attached.
