BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is requesting approval to purchase and replace a FARO Scanner. The estimated total cost of the scanner system is $45,806. This price includes a trade-in of the existing older system the Sheriff's Office has used for many years. This piece of equipment is used on major crime scenes to record and build a three dimensional image of the crime scene, victims and evidence. The funds to purchase this equipment will come from the Unauthorized Substance Tax Funds. The approximate available fund balance of Unauthorized Substance Tax Funds prior to appropriation is $227,856. This item is a GSA item, GSA MAS Contract GS-07F-197GA.

Approve an increase of $45,806 in Appropriated Fund Balance (Unauthorized Substance Tax Funds) and increase the FY 2019-20 Law Enforcement budget by the same amount to reflect the use of Guilford County Unauthorized Substance Tax funds towards the purchase of a FARO Scanner.
