BACKGROUND
Background
This property consists of 8.75 acres located at 5602 YY2 Broadleaf Road and it is currently co-owned by the City of Greensboro and Guilford County. The City has requested that we transfer our portion of the ownership to them so they can include it within their park system.
This request has been reviewed by Guilford County Facilities, Parks, and Property Management staff. The property is not included in any Parks long-range planning for greenways, trails, parks, etc. The property also cannot be used for commercial development due to it being in a watershed area. Given that Guilford County has no plans for the property and the City's plans will be of beneficial use to the citizens of Guilford County, granting sole ownership to the City of Greensboro is recommended.
