BACKGROUND
Background
Under this agreement, Guilford County Emergency Services will receive an exclusive license to use a portion of the Greensboro Fire Station #7, located at 1064 Gatewood Avenue, for use as Guilford County EMS Base 1. The inter-local agreement calls for Guilford County to pay for a portion of the facility's construction costs and a share of the annual operating expenses (both based on the square footage occupied by the county, approximately 22%). The county's estimated share of construction costs is $1,773,225 (the project was included in the county's FY 2020-29 Capital Investment Plan update at an initial estimate of $1,510,000). Final GMP construction costs have been provided by the City of Greensboro and the county's proposed actual costs. A final inter-local agreement between the City of Greensboro and Guilford County is now ready for approval. In addition, a capital project ordinance needs to be approved to pay the county's share of the facility construction costs. This item proposes that County Building Construction Fund fund balance be used to pay for this project.
