BACKGROUND

Background

Transitioning Minds - Making a Change applied for FY 2019-20 funding through the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC).  During the June 20, 2019 regular meeting, the Board of Commissioners chose to hold funding for this program, pending further investigation. Based upon allegations of potential Medicaid fraud resulting from their relationship and service connections with another organization, the JCPC approved during their October 24, 2019 meeting to request reallocation of the held funds to two (2) other active JCPC programs, based upon funding needs for the remainder of FY 2019-20.  JCPC requests a total amount of $40,219 ($34,418 in NC Department of Public Safety (NCDPS)/JCPC funding and $5,801 in County Match funding) reallocated to the following programs:

Unifour One - $22,120

Nehemiah Tech and Robotics Academy STEM and Afterschool - $18,099
