BACKGROUND
Background
Toward the end of each fiscal year, County staff prepare an estimate of all fire district tax collections and requests budget amendments to realign the budgets between the fire districts and the fire protection service districts where projected collections in one tax district will not reach the original budget estimate and the other tax district has available funds. Because fiscal year 2019 was the first year the Alamance Community Fire Service District Overlay (ACFSDO) levied a tax, it was inadvertently excluded from the year end estimate. At the close of the year it was determined that if they had been included in the estimate, the distributions for ACFSDO would have been adjusted by $2,965.01 in to include additional payments from the Alamance Community Fire Protection District.
To address this total distribution shortfall for fiscal year 2019, we are asking for a one-time increase in the FY 2020 ACFSD appropriated fund balance. This adjustment will allow the county to disburse the additional funds received and would hold the ACFPD harmless as a result of the being excluded from the FY 2019 year end estimated collections calculation.

Requested Action
Approve a $2,966 increase in Appropriated Fund Balance and increase the FY 2019-20 Alamance Community Fire Protection District budget by the same amount to make a one-time adjustment that allows the district to receive the $2,965.01 not received in FY 2018-19.
