BACKGROUND
...Background
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office has been awarded $149,977 from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NC DPS), Rehabilitative Programs and Services to continue funding the Guilford County Reentry Council. Local reentry councils are developed to coordinate resources within the community in an effort to provide assistance for returning citizens and their families that will facilitate a better transition from incarceration back into Guilford County.

FY 2019-20 will be the third year that the county has received this funding from NC DPS and it is anticipated to be the final year of this grant. The funding from this renewal/award will be used towards direct services such as housing, clothing and/or transportation assistance, childcare, and training and/or vocational expenses to support reentry program participants and their families.
