BACKGROUND
Background
North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Benchmark 37 reads: “The local board of health shall assure the development, implementation and evaluation of the local health services and programs to protect and promote the public’s health.”
Within Benchmark 37 is activity 37.2 which reads; “The local board of health shall approve policies for the administration of local public health programs.”
Program Directors are required to review the assigned agency guidelines on an annual basis and make the necessary changes and modifications as needed. The review of all agency guidelines was completed in August 2019. The agency’s guidelines and any changes or modifications will be given to the Health and Human Services Advisory Committee for review at the September 25, 2019 meeting. The division is seeking an approval by the Board of Commissioners, acting as the Guilford County Board of Health, of the agency’s guidelines upon the recommendation of the Health and Human Services Advisory Committee.
