BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County Transportation and Mobility Services (TAMS) submitted an application for federal funding under the FTA Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities for FY 2017-18. In its capacity as the designated recipient for this federal funding, the Greensboro Transit Agency (City of Greensboro) awarded funding to Guilford County TAMS to support eligible operating expenses associated with transportation services for elderly citizens, individuals with disabilities and low-income individuals. An interlocal agreement must be signed between the County and the City of Greensboro for disbursement of these funds. Guilford County will provide the local matching funds to support their portion of the project from county property taxes allocated to the Transportation and Mobility Services (TAMS) program. The total project funding is as follows:

NOTE: This was a FY 2017-18 grant, but Greensboro is just now receiving the funds for disbursement to the county.

Requested Action
Approve an interlocal agreement, in substantial form, between the City of Greensboro, on behalf of the Greensboro Transit Agency, and Guilford County for the City to administer the Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program grant funding for FY 2017-18 to Guilford County in the amount of $48,534.
