BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County Transportation and Mobility Services (TAMS) submitted an application for federal funding under the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) Section 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Grant funding for FY 2017-18. Guilford County receives up to 7% of the total allocation annually. For FY 2017-18, Guilford County will receive $45,418 in FTA Section 5339 funding as a sub-recipient under the City of Greensboro. Section 5339 funds can be used to replace, rehabilitate, and purchase buses, vans, and related equipment, or to construct bus-related facilities. Guilford County will utilize the funding to purchase two (2) expansion staff support vehicles. The City will manage the grant and disburse this funding to Guilford County on a reimbursement basis once the vehicles have been purchased. Guilford County must provide the 20% required local match, in the amount of $11,355, and an interlocal agreement must be signed between the County and the City of Greensboro.

NOTE: This was a FY 2017-18 grant, but Greensboro is just now receiving the funds for disbursement to the county.
