BACKGROUND
Background
At the end of FY 2018-19, Room Occupancy and Tourism Development Tax revenues exceeded the budget by $33,544.90 due to final June receipts (received in July). Section IV (A) of the FY 2018-19 Budget Ordinance authorizes the County Manager as Budget Officer to amend the Room Occupancy and Tourism Development Fund budget in the event revenues exceed the budget: "In the event that the actual net proceeds from the occupancy tax exceed or fall short of the appropriated amounts, the actual net proceeds from the tax shall constitute the appropriations from the tax levy, and teh Budget Officer is authorized to amend the budget upward to cover the actual revenue collected."
In accordance with the authority granted in the budget ordinance, and the actual revenues received in FY 2018-19, the Room Occupancy and Tourism Development Tax fund budget was increased by $33,545, and this action is being reported to the Board accordingly.
