BACKGROUND
Background
On December 20, 2018, the law firm of Rossabi Law Partners recorded 4 Commissioner's Deeds and paid excise tax stamps to the Guilford County Register of Deeds office in the amounts of $20.00, $8.00, $17.00 and $47.00 for a total of $92.00. These deeds were recorded in book 8113 pages 1567-1568, 1569-1570, 1571-1572, and 1573-1574. An error was made on the deeds as they did not specify the Grantee. Since the original deeds could not properly be corrected, four(4) new deeds were filed and the same excise tax amounts were paid again on January 9, 2019. These deeds were recorded in book 8117 pages 2382-2383,2384-2385, 2386-2387, and 2388-2389. The law office of Rossabi Law Partners are requesting a refund of $92.00 (total amount of the excise tax amount of the 4 deeds recorded twice).
