BACKGROUND
background
Emergency Services was awarded a contract with Gilead Science, Inc. for a medical social worker to assist with clients suffering from health disparities associated with substance use. The grant is targeted at citizens with Hepatitis C and the goal of the program is identification and linkage to care.
Guilford County has received 60% of the first year funding, and will receive the other 40% based on program completion standards. The contract is grant funding dependent and funding sources for the position will be revaluated upon completion of the grant to ensure programmatic needs are met.

Approve contract, in substantial form, with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, on behalf of it's Department of Social Work, in an amount not to exceed $100,000 per annum, to be effective May 1, 2019 for a term of one (1) year, with up to four (4) one-year extensions.
