BACKGROUND

Background

JCPC currently funds the Nehemiah's Tech and Robotics program under the leadership of Randi Fancis, VP/Executive Director of Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center. The Nehemiah Builders (ages 9-14) competed in their 1st NC FIRST regional robotics tournament last November at Southeast High School. They received the judge's award for the MOST INNOVATIVE idea for a rookie team.

Students had to devise a solution for astronaut who had to travel into space near the sun and combat against radiation. The Nehemiah team specialized in vinyl clothing that would cause radiation yas to bounce of their pants, jackets, hats, etc.
