BACKGROUND

Background

Guilford County Emergency Management has been awarded additional funding from the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management in the amount of $5,399 over what was initially budgeted to assist with the cost of developing and maintaining a comprehensive Emergency Management program.  During recent exercises and Emergency Operations Center Activations, corrective actions have been identified regarding Emergency Operations Center (EOC) technology, equipment, facilities, and processes.  This additional funding will be utilized to correct those deficiencies to better assist with EOC operations and incident coordination.   Initially, $75,000 was budgeted for the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) in the FY2018-19 budget, however based upon statewide deliverable allocations, the actual amount received was $80,399.
