BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County Animal Services has been awarded a $10,000 grant from GreaterGood.org, based on our response and assistance to Carteret County during Hurricane Florence. The Animal Services team spent a week in Carteret County assisting pets and their owners affected by the disaster. This grant was extended to Animal Services to help cover extra staffing, veterinary care and transport costs.
GreaterGood.org is a suite of charity-driven websites that launched in 1999 with The Hunger Site. It has since grown significantly to become a powerful vehicle to raise money for worthy causes in the U.S. and around the world. Proceeds from our Click-To-Give sites and Gifts That Give More programs help fund projects that help people, pets, and the planet in meaningful and measurable ways.

Requested Action
Approve receipt of the GreaterGood.org grant award in the amount of $10,000 to be used for additional staffing, veterinary care and transport costs; and approve an increase in Other Revenues of $10,000 and increase the FY 2018-19 Animal Services budget by the same amount.
