BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its January 14, 2019 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application #2019-01, being 328.33 acres and comprised of four (4) Tax Parcels (#128398 @ 233.26 acres, #128408 @ 36.30 acres, #128392 @ 44.97 acres, and #128421 @ 13.80 acres) all owned by Bobby J. and Faye F. Roberts of Brown Summit, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 389 totaling, 17,231.23 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 350 parcels comprising 15,557.55 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 39 parcels comprising 1673.68 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
