BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has applied for and received a grant from Firehouse Subs in the amount of $19,530.00 specifically to purchase 15 A.E.D. brand in car defibrillator devices. These devices will be deployed within patrol cars in each district and will help enable deputies to respond to cardiac events in Guilford County. Currently, the Sheriff's Office deploys approximately one car per shift with an AED in each patrol district. This grant will enable deployment of AEDs in additional patrol units. No county match is required for this grant.

Approve receipt of a Firehouse Subs grant in the amount of $19,530.00 to purchase 15 AED Brand Defibrillator devices to place in patrol cars in each patrol district and training in order to provide medical intervention when deputies encounter citizens experiencing cardiac arrest. No county match is required for this grant.
