BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its September 17, 2018 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application #2018-07, being 30.97 acres and comprised of two (2) Tax Parcels (#0144842 @ 26.89 acres, # 0144854 @ 4.08 acres) all owned by Aaron and Kelly Sink of Greensboro, NC.
2. VAD Application # 2018-08, being 55.01 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#0129684 @ 55.01 acres) all owned by Helen R. McNeely of Brown Summit, NC.
3. VAD Application # 2018-09, being 33.58 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#0167788 @ 33.58 acres) all owned by Jay and Doris Vance of Kernersville, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 385 totaling, 16,902.90 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 346 parcels comprising 15,229.22 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 39 parcels comprising 1673.68 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
