BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Transportation Department has prepared the 5310 - Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities and the 5311 - Community Transportation Program (CTP) 5307 Urban Area and 5339 Capital Assistance Grant applications for FY2020 to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT) no later than November 2, 2018.
The total amount of the 5310 Grant request for FY2020 is $202,000 with a County match of $101,000. The grant application for the 5310 program provides funding for salaries and vehicle maintenance expenses for the Guilford County Transportation Department. The FY2018 grant provided over 10,200 trips for the elderly and disabled citizens of Guilford County.
The total amount of the 5311 Grant request for FY2020 is $268,107 with a County match of $40,216. The 5311-CTP grant is used for administrative and capital assistance.
The total amount of the 5307 Grant request for FY 2020 is $70,000 with a County match of $35,000.
The total amount of the 5339 Grant request for FY 2020 is $6,269.72. The proposed FY2020 application for the 5339 grant includes the replacement of technology.
A public hearing is required to assess the value and need for a community transportation system and assistance to the elderly and disabled citizens of Guilford County. Attached is a summary of the grant request and authorizing resolution.
