BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its August 20, 2018 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application #2018-06, being 231.5 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#0100362 @ 231.5 acres) all owned by Rodney Summers, Terri Summers and Janice Bradburn of Elon, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 381 totaling, 16,783.34 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 342 parcels comprising 15,109.66 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 39 parcels comprising 1673.68 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
