BACKGROUND
Background
During the FY18/19 budget process, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners included economic incentive funds for the 1) Piedmont Triad Film Commission in the amount of $25,000.00 for Job Creation and/or Retention; 2) Southwest Renewal Foundation of High Point in the amount of $25,000 to Increase and/or Improve Business Prospects within Guilford County; 3) East Market Street Development Corp. d/b/a East Greensboro NOW in the amount of $35,000 (which represents an increase of $15,000 more than the recommended $20,000 as part of the FY18/19 economic incentive grant allocation noticed for the public hearing held on June 7, 2018) to Increase Taxable Property and Increase/Improve Business Prospects; and 4) Welfare Reform Liaison Project, Inc. in the amount of $25,000 for Job Creation and/or Retention. Each organization's application has been submitted and is on file (see attached). In order to appropriate those funds N.C.G.S. 158-7.1 requires that the Board hold a public hearing for each funding request.
