BACKGROUND

Background

The FY 2018-19 adopted budget included an estimate of Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) funding for aging adult in-home aide, transportation, and other services for seniors such as adult day care, group enrichment, community nutrition and home delivered meals and senior center operations.  The service providers under this agreement are the Adult Center for Enrichment, Inc. d/b/a, Guilford County Social Services, Guilford County Transportation and Senior Resources of Guilford.    An updated HCCBG Agreement and County Funding Plan is attached.

 

The total Block Grant Funding for FY 2018-19 is $2,408,761.  The required local match of $267,604 will be provided through in-kind services.  It is estimated that 10,649 seniors will benefit from these block grant funded services.

REQUESTED ACTION

Requested Action

Approve the FY 2018-19 Home and Community Block Grant Agreement and County Funding Plan; and approve increases in Federal/State Revenues of $41,864, in the FY 2018-19 Health & Human Services - Social Services budget of $39,143, and in the FY 2018-19 Transportation - Human Services budget of $2,721.  Authorize staff to make and approve any necessary adjustments to agency service contracts to match the updated plan funding.
