BACKGROUND
Background
DHHS - Public Health Division Updates:
A. National Obstetrical Training Conference held at Guilford County Department of Public Health:
Due to the success of our maternity care program, The National Centering Pregnancy Healthcare Institute recently chose Guilford County Public Health to host their Annual provider training conference at our Wendover Avenue clinical site. The national training conference was held May 3 and 4, 2018, and professional Women’s Health providers attended from states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota and even Alaska. Centering Pregnancy is an evidence-based clinical process utilizing group prenatal care, and has helped to reduce infant mortality by addressing important and timely health topics from nutrition, common discomforts, stress management, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and infant care. The national office stated “Guilford has shown their expertise and commitment to women’s prenatal health, and this has proven to greatly improve health care for pregnant women in this area.”
