BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its May 22, 2018 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. EVAD Application #2018-04, being 203.6 acres and comprised of three (3) Tax Parcels (#0116619 @ 116.2 acres, # 0116674 @ 67.3 acres, #0225705 @ 20.1 acres) all owned by Gregg Ward and John Ward of McLeansville, NC.
2. EVAD Application # 2018-05, being 48.48 acres and comprised of two (2) Tax Parcels (#0117625 @ 20.08 acres, #0117626 @ 28.40 acres) all owned by Peggy Busick of McLeansville, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 380 totaling, 16,551.84 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 341 parcels comprising 14,878.16 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 39 parcels comprising 1673.68 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
